Responsibilities:
- Perform patient registration, specimen reception, preparation, and packing of samples.
- Conduct laboratory testing and analysis, including urine microscopy, full blood count, and HbA1c testing, in accordance with established procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment as required.
- Perform point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, ECG, and spirometry procedures.
- Verify and accurately report test results in a timely manner, and investigate any anomalies.
- Perform daily quality control checks and maintain accurate records for traceability and compliance.
- Ensure proper documentation of quality control, maintenance activities, and laboratory processes.
- Assist with patient enquiries and escalate issues appropriately when required.
- Adhere to workplace safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Support operational and administrative activities as assigned.
- Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in a clinical laboratory within a healthcare setting is an added advantage.
- Experience in phlebotomy and heel-prick sample collection is an added advantage.
