Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and variance analysis.
- Post and review accounting journals, including accruals, prepayments, provisions, and depreciation.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items promptly.
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Coordinate annual external audits and prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Manage GST, corporate tax, and other statutory compliance requirements, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Prepare tax incentive applications and maintain supporting documentation.
- Liaise with subsidiaries and relevant stakeholders on tax and financial reporting matters.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support budgeting, forecasting, and business decision-making.
- Support cost control initiatives and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Develop accounting templates and standardize finance processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement.
- Support cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and financial reporting.
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation activities where required.
- Guide and review the work of junior finance team members.
Requirements
- ACCA or CPA qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Senior Accountant within a commercial environment.
- Strong knowledge of SFRS and/or IFRS accounting standards.
- Proven experience managing month-end close, audit coordination, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience with SAP ERP systems.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and formulas.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese for liaising with Chinese-speaking suppliers, counterparties, and stakeholders.
- Experience developing accounting templates, standardizing processes, and implementing process improvements.
- Experience in cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Experience in statutory audits and financial reporting.
- Experience in the shipping and logistics industry is an added advantage.
- Experience with additional ERP modules or reporting tools is an added advantage.
- Exposure to consolidation reporting is an added advantage.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior finance staff is an added advantage.
