Material Controller [up to $4,500 + AWS | Central]

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on material control activities for planned/unplanned maintenance outages and warranty works at power plant sites.
  • Expedite and track material deliveries to ensure timely site readiness, including close follow-up with counterparts and suppliers.
  • Coordinate shipping documentation (e.g. bills of lading, packing lists, invoices, shipping marks) and manage freight forwarders for customs clearance and inland transportation.
  • Oversee receiving, inspection, storage, and handling of materials at customer warehouses to ensure materials are maintained in good condition.
  • Establish and manage inventory systems, processes, and tools for serialized Hot Gas Path Parts, spare parts, consumables, hardware, and special tools.
  • Coordinate warehouse space, laydown areas, and staging areas with customers, and supervise contractor manpower supporting material control activities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including roll-in/roll-out tracking, stock-takes, and consumption reporting for consumables and hardware.
  • Ensure required materials are withdrawn, staged, pre-packed, and available before and during outages; prepare export, temporary export, and shipping documentation for overseas repair activities.
  • Set up and manage temporary outage site offices and handle onsite administration such as site induction, logistics, meals, transportation, IT equipment, and amenities.
  • Support customer service excellence by responding to customer needs, maintaining strong working relationships, and performing additional duties assigned to drive customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in supply chain logistics, inventory management, warehouse operations, material control, or maintenance planning related to the overhauling of heavy machinery
  • Relevant experience working in power or oil and gas industry, working in companies that manufacture heavy machinery, provide maintenance services, or operating process plants
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Self-motivated, attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Strong ability to work well both as a team and independently, to manage customer supply chain team and contractor manpower at site
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability and willingness to frequently travel to and work in remote power plant site locations such as in Jurong Island, and to be stationed onsite during outages
  • Basic knowledge in mechanical engineering and rotating equipment parts would be an advantage 
  • Training and certification in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) software, Lean Six Sigma would be an advantage
