Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of investment research analysts, overseeing daily operations while fostering collaboration with Portfolio Managers to support investment strategies.
- Conduct macroeconomic, microeconomic, and fixed income research across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and India to identify investment opportunities.
- Perform in-depth fundamental analysis of corporates, including financial modelling, cash flow analysis, and credit assessments, to produce high-quality investment research reports.
- Monitor key economic, political, and market developments, providing timely research, forecasts, and insights to support investment decisions and business requirements.
- Identify emerging sectors and asset classes for investment while supporting internal stakeholders, client requests, and other ad hoc research initiatives, including occasional overseas business travel.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, with 10+ years of investment research experience within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong expertise in macroeconomic and fixed income research, financial modelling, cash flow analysis, balance sheet analysis, and quantitative/econometric analysis.
- Proficient in Bloomberg, Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions/macros), and other financial research and data analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical, report writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex investment insights effectively to senior management.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams, work under pressure, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
