Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Motion Control, Electrical Hardware, and Electrical Design teams, providing technical and people leadership.
- Define the technical roadmap for motion control systems and electrical hardware architecture.
- Guide motion control modelling, control algorithm development, and system analysis for high-speed, high-precision applications.
- Oversee electrical schematic design, power electronics, motor drivers, and control board development.
- Drive new product development from concept and prototyping through Alpha/Beta testing and product launch.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet performance, reliability, cost, and project schedule objectives.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, design guidelines, and best practices.
- Review and approve key technical designs while resolving complex engineering challenges.
- Coach, mentor, and develop engineering teams to strengthen technical capabilities and performance.
- Collaborate closely with Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing, Applications, and Quality Assurance teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in industrial automation, semiconductor equipment, or precision machinery industries.
- Strong expertise in motion control modelling and control algorithms for ultra-high-speed and high-accuracy applications.
- Solid experience in control system analysis and design, including servo motor and motion control systems.
- Strong background in digital electronics and power electronics design, including power supplies and motor drivers.
- Proficiency in analytical and simulation tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of dynamic frequency response analysis, including Bode Plot and Nyquist Plot.
- Familiarity with electromagnetic technology for motor design.
- Experience with C/C++ programming for real-time control applications is an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of mechanical system integration is an added advantage.
