Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute event growth strategies, business plans, and annual budgets.
  • Manage overall event P&L and ensure revenue and profitability targets are achieved.
  • Drive exhibitor, sponsorship, and partnership revenue growth.
  • Develop brand, sales, and marketing strategies to increase market relevance and attendance.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Plan event floor layouts with internal teams to optimise exhibitor and visitor experience.
  • Identify and implement new revenue streams and brand extension opportunities.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and manage event and sales teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Set performance goals, conduct appraisals, and support staff training and development.
  • Collaborate with operations, marketing, finance, and other stakeholders to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with exhibitors, industry partners, media, suppliers, and associations.
  • Manage exhibitor rebook campaigns and oversee CRM database accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor sales performance and support complex commercial negotiations and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Represent events at industry functions, competitor events, and media engagements when required.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as an Event Director, Senior Event Manager, or similar leadership role within the exhibitions or events industry.
  • Proficiency in Japanese to communicate with Japanese speaking counterparts 
  • Proven experience managing large-scale trade exhibitions or events.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and P&L performance.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales and revenue targets.
  • Strong leadership, team management, coaching, and staff development skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience developing and executing sales, marketing, and business growth strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market and competitor trends.
  • Collaborative, results-driven, and proactive approach to work.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Salesforce CRM or similar CRM systems.
