Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate DRG coding for inpatient discharges and procedures from Day Surgery, Dental, and Endoscopy services.
- Complete clinical coding within required timelines to support timely submission of casemix data.
- Maintain coding turnaround time and accuracy standards, ensuring coding is completed within established service levels.
- Liaise with clinicians and healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses, procedures, and incomplete medical records for coding purposes.
- Provide coding-related information and clarification to relevant stakeholders within stipulated timelines.
- Conduct basic internal audits of coded cases to ensure coding quality and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with established coding guidelines, procedures, and standards.
- Support departmental initiatives and administrative functions as required.
- Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Medicine, Nursing, Healthcare, or a related discipline.
- Preferably at least 1 year of clinical coding experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Good knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding standards and practices.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Good interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to interpret medical records accurately and apply appropriate coding classifications.
