It is normal to feel nervous before an interview. Here are some ways you can decrease your level of anxiety

Come to the interview well prepared, do a little research about the company. This shows that you are genuinely interested in the job!

Try to make arrive at the interview location at least 10 minutes before your appointment.

Make an effort to call the interviewer to let them know if you are going to be late. When you are not able to contact your interviewer, please apologize and explain the reason for being late. (If you storm in without any explanation or apologies, the interviewer will feel that you are not genuine about the application).

Wear something that makes you feel confident.

During the interview
It is very important to listen to the questions, ask and answer them appropriately. Do not be afraid to ask the interviewer to repeat the question again. It is better to clarify than to risk answering the question wrongly as the interviewer may think that you are not paying attention.

It is also important that during the interview, for the name card to be placed on the right hand side of the interview table in clear view of you. This is not only polite but it can be quite useful incase you suddenly forget the interviewer/s name/s.

It is alright to ask questions, however, you should wait to the appropriate timing to ask. Never interrupt the interviewer.

Try to ask relevant questions and avoid talking too much about points which are not related to the job at hand.

Be receptive and pay attention to the questions that are being asked to answer.

After the interview
Remember to thank the interviewer and offer a firm handshake.

It is a good practice to remember the interviewers name and address him or her appropriately.

The key to a successful interview is not entirely dependent on the skills you posses so always think of a way to create a lasting impression on the interviewer.
