Job Interview (Example scenario)

You : [Knock the door] 失礼いたします。 -Shitsurei itashimasu.- (Meaning: Sorry for disturbing. / Excuse me.)

Interviewer どうぞ、おかけください。 – Douzo. Okakekudasai.- (Meaning: Please take a seat.)

You :[Sitting down] 失礼いたします。 -Shitsurei itashimasu.- (Meaning: Sorry for disturbing. / Excuse me. / Thank you.)

Interviewer 本日はお越し頂きありがとうございます。 – Honjitsu wa okoshi itadaki arigatou gozaimasu.- (Meaning: Thank you very much for coming today.)

You :こちらこそ、本日はお時間をお取り頂き、ありがとうございます。 – Kochirakoso, honjitsu wa ojikan wo otori itadaki arigatou gozaimasu. – (Meaning: Same here, thank you very much for taking time for me today.)

Interviewer asks a question or says something; you could not catch it…

You :恐れ入りますが、もう一度 お願いできますか。 -Osoreirimasuga mouichido onegaidekimasuka?- (Meaning: Could you please repeat?)

After finishing the interview…

You :本日はありがとうございました。失礼いたします。 -Honjitsu wa arigatou gozaimashita. Shitsurei itashimasu. [bow and leave the room] – (Meaning: Thank you very much for today. Bye.)

Self-introduction (first-time meeting)

「はじめまして。私の名前はOOOOと申します。どうぞ宜しくお願いいたします」
-Hajimemashite. Watakushi no namae wa OOOO to moushimasu. Douzo yoroshiku onegai itashimasu.- (Meaning: Nice to meet you. My name is OOOO. Thank you very much.)
